Significant impact of successful food delivery to disaster site.
Operation Food for Life delivered supplies to the landslide disaster site on Sunday. There have been logistical challenges due to security and distribution issues in getting supplies to those in need.
Mr. Eddie Bero, the project manager for the PNG project, led the effort to purchase the goods in Mt Hagen and transport them by truck to the site. Although the truck faced security issues on the way, it arrived safely with the help of the local community. For the next delivery, police protection will be required.
The local Adventist high school truck was used for the delivery, and the church members, under the district pastor’s leadership, ensured that the right people received the food.
The focus of the distribution has been for those who have been made homeless and are living under tents and tarpaulins. As emergency supplies have ceased from other aid agencies, the supplies have come at the right time as these people have nothing.
Operation Food for Life expresses deep gratitude to our generous donors for their unwavering support. Your contributions are making a real difference in the lives of those affected and hungry.
